Antique Semi Flush Ceiling Pendant Light Art Deco Skyscraper 1930s Skyscraper Schoolhouse.
The fixture is a semi-flush mount ceiling light.
• The shade style, with its horizontal stepped bands and white opal glass, is very characteristic of Art Deco / Streamline Moderne design from the 1930s–1940s.
• These were often called “schoolhouse lights” or “skyscraper shades”, and were commonly used in kitchens, hallways, schools, and public buildings in that era.
• The stepped design in particular suggests it could be by companies like Lightolier, Holophane, or Uno Lighting, who made many Deco fixtures.
Unfortunately, there are usually no obvious maker’s marks on the glass shades themselves.
The Light measures 14” across and hang 15” from the ceiling to bottom of the Shade.
The Ceiling Fixture is Original to the Light. It has been refinished in Oil Rubbed Bronze.
The Porcelain Socket is Original as well. The Wiring has been replaced and updated
Light Bulb is included.
